This native annual wildflower originates from fields, farmland and cultivated cornfields.
Once one of our most common wildflowers this beautiful plant is now one of our rarest and is classed as critically endangered.
Easily grown it flowers abundantly for weeks during the summer months. Tall and slender it has soft to deep pink single flowers that are tube shaped at the bottom and open at the top.
All parts of the plant are poisonous and contain githagin and agrostemmic acid.
